The Port of Bremerton is soliciting qualifications for professional services for the structural evaluation of 5648 SW Imperial Way building located in the Port’s Olympic View Industrial Park.

The selected consultant will provide a visual structural condition assessment and develop a recommendation for repairs to 5648 SW Imperial Way and deliver to the Port a stamped Engineer’s report with recommendations for repair and replacement. The selected firm will enter into a professional services agreement with the Port. If the Port later chooses to move forward with a second phase for the development of design documents for repairs in 2024, the Port and selected firm will have the option to exercise an amendment to the contract for the second phase.
The building has a wooden support structure that holds the roof and it is showing signs of rot on the west side. Sagging rafters appear to be touching the crane rails in places. The roof was replaced in 2013. The wood supports do not hold up to the bridge crane structure inside. The property is occupied by a tenant.
