Chief Financial Officer+

The Port of Bremerton, Bremerton, Washington is inviting qualified candidates to apply for the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Work Schedule: M-F 

Compensation: $125k - $145k depending upon experience

We value the collegial team effort that earned us these designations. We need your strategic finance skills to enhance our economic development efforts and ensure the sustainability of the recreation opportunities we bring to Kitsap residents and visitors. As a key member of our leadership team, you will provide strategic direction and oversight of the financial efforts of the Port to ensure financial stability and future growth. Through effective work with the leadership team and developing a relationship with the Port Commissioners, your expertise will help ensure a comprehensive financial approach in all areas. You will also be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the Port’s finance, treasury, accounting, audit, data processing, human resource, risk management, and other related functions and serving as the Port Auditor and Treasurer.

Successful candidates have a bachelor’s degree requirement with a major in accounting preferred. Advanced degree and/or CPA certification a plus. Minimum of five years professional accounting experience a must with financial(investment) management and private sector CFO experience desired. Two years demonstrated leadership ability including planning, guiding a team, decision making and problem-solving skills.  A thorough knowledge of accounting/financial management and computer systems and applications essential - knowledge of public sector accounting practices and procedures helpful. Both long-range fiscal planning and day-to-day accounting skills are required as is the ability to work in both arenas simultaneously and often at a fast pace. Experience handling human resource functions particularly involving labor union negotiations highly desired.  Excellent written and verbal communications skills across all levels of employees and the public essential for this position. Approach to all areas of work with the highest ethics, good judgement, and confidentiality essential.

Summer Seasonal Port Attendant - Marinas+

This position is open until filled

The Port of Bremerton is accepting applications for customer service/grounds keeping/ light janitorial seasonal employment at our marinas. Full-time and Part-time positions available. 

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and capable of performing manual labor. Duties also include general janitorial work, indoor/outdoor minor maintenance functions, grounds keeping, and including fuel dock services at both the Port Orchard Marina and Bremerton Marina.

The successful applicant will be subject to a background check and the Port’s drug policy. Wage is $20 per hour minimum. A full job description is available by clicking the link above.
