**Harper Pier is currently CLOSED for reconstruction**

*Deconstruction Update: Pacific Pile & Marine was identified as the low bidder. DNR (Department of Natural Resources) anticipates deconstruction to begin around the first week of February and to be complete by February 28, 2013.

The Harper Recreational Pier is a community and regional recreational asset which is operated and maintained by the Port of Bremerton as provided for in a lease from the owner of the tidelands and pier, Washington State Department of Natural Resources. The wood construction Harper Pier is a legacy facility dating back to local ferry operations and the effects of time, weather and the hostile marine environment have taken a toll on the structure.

Community meetings have been held regarding the current condition of the pier and discussion and input on options for future uses of the pier.
